Bad drivers/parkers: Do people in this country actually know how to drive? I won’t say I’m the best driver and that I never screw up on the road. Just the other day I pulled out in front of another car when I should have waited because I hadn’t looked one last time. But that’s besides the point. Sometimes misjudgements, while unexcusable happen. It’s when people are shitheads who think they own the road, and will cut you off when you’re merging. You know the saying, Merge Like A Zip? It’s there for a reason. It actually works. Until some dick comes along and SPEEDS UP and so of course, I, wanting to avoid any such sort of accident, will SLOW DOWN and let them in. Otherwise I’d probably get the blame because it would look like they were more ahead of me and I should have let them in. It’s also not okay to PASS THREE CARS GOING THE SPEED LIMIT! I was merrily driving along and this car was driving along down the wrong side of the road passing at least three cars. And it was night! It was freaky to watch. Motorcyclists are bad for that too. And another thing Hamiltonian drivers are bad at. Parking. Hell they’re not as bad as Cambridge! But still. Take the time to correct your parking people! It’s only okay when there are plenty of other parks.
Even when I was learning, (I was a shitty parker) I would always back out and fix it up. Unless, as I said, there were plenty of other parks.
Do I look stupid? For some reason, people don’t seem to believe that I have any idea about what I’m often talking about. Especially when it comes to correcting them. Hmm I wonder.. For example. When I went for my Full Licence, the eye tester machine was screwed up. The chart was uber small and half off the screen. The lady didn’t believe me and must have thought I was blind or delusional. “Read line 4″ There is no line 4… “It’s the 4th line, starts with a H. “THERE IS NO LINE 4. The chart is half off and really far away and small. I kept telling her it wasn’t there. And finally she asks this other girl, slightly older than me, who was waiting to book her test, if she can read line 4. “Um, there is no line 4 and it’s like half off the screen and far away” I stood there with the smuggest grin on my face. It was all I could do to stop myself yelling I TOLD YOU SO.
And then today, I started taking out my old speakers. My Dad: Are you taking out the broken one? Me: Um no I don’t think so. Dad: Why not? Me: Um because it doesn’t matter, I have to take both out anyway don’t I? Dad: I suppose *walks off*. Then later, my dad was drilling holes into my car for my back speakers. Um.. I don’t think you’ve got in the right place. “Yes I have, I checked” But um look that’s where I marked it to go, and I was checking from the spacer. “No it’s meant to go here” He went to screw in the screw and it completely missed. It wouldn’t go into the spacer. And therefore, he had drilled in the wrong place. Like I said.
Those are the only examples I can think of off of the top of my head, but there have been plenty more. Like with my car, I tried to explain what was wrong, but because I don’t really know jack shit about cars, I got a ‘yeah I’ll go look myself because I don’t believe you’ look. At a quiz night I attended a couple of months ago. I knew the answer to a question and I just got looked at like “yeah whatever, we’re putting our answer” And I was right. Shame on them.
Is it my age? Because I’m a girl? Or is it just because I look clueless and or stupid? Or is it because most of the time I’m proving someone wrong and they don’t want to admit defeat. I have a feeling all of the above comes into play.
nzLARP: So I was watching Role Models today. Excellent movie. And i was really interested in the LARP game that Augy was involved in. I’m into all that fantasy kind of stuff. I’m a geek at heart, I just often don’t follow such interests for fear of rejection or being laughed at.. Lol. Something most people believe I wouldn’t worry about but you know. Meh. Anyway I found the nzLARP site, and while it provides basic info it didn’t really give much advice I didn’t think. But then their main advice was just jump in and learn as you go. Which is fair enough I suppose. I found out that Hamilton has Knight(Something) Chase? Shadows? It’s a LARP game/events that are held every so often and it looks really awesome. But the last event for awhile is THIS WEEKEND. And registrations are closed and I don’t have the money or anything for it. SO big bummer. It would have been cool to go along. Tis a pity I didn’t see Role Models about a month ago lol. But there is a online forum for it so I may have to jump on and try and get someone to teach me all there is to know and help me out and such. I’m sure that won’t be too hard. Fingers Crossed.
The Internet: I can’t even remember what I was searching for. But really, the internet does not know everything. Blast. I wish I could remember! Because without an example there is not really anything to back up my complaint. So I’ll leave it at that. But what the hell was my complaint? Lol idk.
My sister: She’s on holidays. And so she thinks that she should be able to do fun and exciting stuff everyday so she doesn’t get bored. HAHAHA. Kill me now. She tried to kick me off the computer because she had homework. I laughed and told her she couldn’t use that excuse in the holidays. But mum overruled me. And then my sis got on and sat on msn for the whole night. BAHRRR #$%!!?@&*()#_!@
It’s okay. Because I have internet in bed. ^_^ I’m looking into the world of Dungeons and Dragons. Cause I wanna broaden the type of people I know. Without stereotyping, geeks and nerds are often the coolest people. And though I don’t always come across as a geeky nerd, I am interested and enjoy that kind of stuff. It’s just a secret I don’t let many people into. I want to play final fantasy now..
But instead, I am going to end this post and go watch Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter/Under The Hood. Not the actual movie. So will have to get that when it comes out.
toodles!
